Daniel Owen, of Owens Horseboxes, says once a horse owner has a new equestrian vehicle, it is important to accustom the horse to appropriate protective travel gear, such as travel boots or bandages, so that the horse in comfortable and confident wearing them ahead of imminent journeys.
He also reminds owners that they must take the horse's passport on board with them as it is illegal to transport a horse without it!
"We also advise having emergency contact details readily available for nearby veterinary practices," he advises. "Safety is key, of course; we offer twin colour safety camera systems as standard in our vehicles, so that the horse can be monitored at all times from the cab," Daniel concludes.
